FDA approved, for a specific usealso known as Bremelanotidealso known as Vyleesi

PT-141

The Flirt

The only one in the room with a real ID.

Last medically reviewed: June 2026

What I look like

The form and how it is used

In its approved form (Vyleesi) it is a prefilled autoinjector you use under the skin before an occasion. It also gets sold gray-market as a loose powder, which is a different and unverified thing.

My story

Where I came from

PT-141 grew out of research on a tanning peptide and took an unexpected turn toward desire. Instead of working on blood flow, it acts on receptors in the brain, which makes it stand out from the usual suspects.

What I bring to the table

What people explore me for

  • FDA approved as Vyleesi for premenopausal women with low sexual desire (HSDD)
  • That is a specific approved use, not a general menopause treatment
  • Explored off-label for arousal and libido

My red flags

Side effects and cautions to know

  • Nausea is common
  • Flushing and headache
  • Temporary rise in blood pressure
  • Skin darkening with repeated use

Where to find me

The honest version, not a shopping guide

The approved version is a prescription you get through a provider and pharmacy. That is the legitimate route. Loose powder sold online is not the same product and carries all the usual unregulated risks. Note the approval is for premenopausal HSDD specifically, so menopause use would be off-label and a real provider conversation.
